If you want to experience a Christmas that’s a little off the beaten track, a lot less conveyor-belt, and a whole lot more enjoyable, then we suggest Off Piste '09. It’s a Hawke & Hunter Christmas, it’s Christmas with a difference, and it’s a one-time thing.

It's Different

Off Piste '09 is a unique Christmas party event, an escape-the-year kind of experience where you can take a holiday at home, enjoy a festive banquet, live music and the best DJs in the city.

It's Alpine

Off Piste '09 is a recreation of an Alpine village inside an Edinburgh Georgian townhouse, complete with individual ski chalets, snow-covered trees, and a star-lit sky. Off Piste '09 is all things to all party-goers – it’s food as theatre, live music in performance, a party in the street, and hot chocolate as alcoholic as you can take it.

Behind Off Piste 2009

The Chalets

You don’t book a table at Off Piste '09, you book a chalet. It’s just like going on holiday. Each individual chalet can comfortably seat up to twelve people. We can also cater for larger parties by bringing individual chalets together. Book a chalet for friends or reserve all of them and give the office a Christmas party they will remember.

Home Sweet Home

Each chalet provides an intimate space, within the huge, theatrical setting of Hawke & Hunter, magically transformed into a mini Alpine resort.

Holiday Here

If you book weekday lunch or dinner a themed banquet is served on your private balcony, beneath a snow-covered canopy, overlooking a street lined with twinkling lamps. You can buy chalet drinks packages and chalet girls (and boys) bring orders right to your balcony.

The Weekender

If you book a chalet on a Saturday night you can enjoy the music, order in some food and drink and share the night with friends until 3am.

Street Party

Off Piste '09 believes in the sound of music – both the live band version and the DJ-led variety – and taking to the street to dance is an essential part of Off Piste '09.

The Street

The Off Piste chalets line an Alpine street that is the location for pre-dinner drinks. The bar at the end of the street will be serving Christmas favourites such as eggnog, schnapps, hot cider, glühwein and alcoholic hot chocolate, as well as Off Piste Christmas cocktails created specially for the event.

The Party

Every night at 10pm the after-dinner entertainment starts with a five-strong live band, who perform a two-hour set. After midnight our very own DJs from Hawke and Hunter and 99 Hanover Street will keep the party going to 3am. When you book an Off Piste chalet all the music is free, from 10pm until 3am – no standing in line, no cover charge, and no hassle.

Members of the public can pay a cover charge to secure admission to Off Piste after 10pm. 50% of the ticket price will go to charity.

Food and Drink

Every chalet at Off Piste '09 has a balcony with an impressive, large table and ample communal bench seating. And every table will be covered with a truly decadent Christmas banquet.

Feasts

A mug of hot, steaming, aromatic glühwein marks the start of every meal, followed by an array of traditional and hearty festive foods.

Refreshment

Off Piste '09 requires constant refreshment. Drinks can be celebratory, with Champagne as the obvious choice, or alternative, with specially-created cocktails begging for your attention. For something more traditional, try our continental winter favourites which will provide a hot start to the night.
